Conceived in the summer of 2007, rawdesign is one of Toronto's newest and most vibrant architectural studios.

Recognized by the Ontario Association of Architects in 2009 as the profession's Best Emerging Practice, raw design has grown quickly to 18 highly competent and experienced staff. The directors count between them over 30 years of experience in the Toronto region and have completed more than 30 projects varying in size from 10,000ft² to greater than 1,000,000ft². Their project experience in Canada and abroad has included many varied building types and forms.

As architects, our primary focus is design and all that implies. The process and the craft and art of drawing as a means to creating buildings of meaning and value is an integral step. This requires a commitment to the competitive design process and a willingness to investigate disparate design and material options. We believe in the need to embrace fresh thinking and innovative technologies as well as systems in design and construction while balancing these with the realities of limited resources and budgets. For us, design excellence is not an expensive option, it is fundamental to realizing a building within the constraints of budget and schedule.
