This award-winning single dwelling is situated close to Strasbourg in a village famous for its cherry trees and cherry schnapps. Designed as a low-carbon house, the timber frame construction has been pre-manufactured off-site and was erected in only one week. The entire building is insulated with eco-friendly cellulose and is equipped with triple glazing. With its roof-integrated solar and photovoltaic system, combined with an air source heat pump, the building is almost energy self-sufficient.
The Cherry Blossom House has won the Award for Exemplary Design by the Architectural Chambers Baden-Württemberg (Germany) 2014.
