The site wraps around historically significant buildings, and was presented as too large to house a single building. The lots face on two different streets, each with individual zoning, setbacks and streetscape concerns. The driving ambition for these buildings were to create a green, inter-urban residential high-rise, while maintaining the light and glass that typifies downtown living. The goal was to create a building that would meet LEED standards and requirements, but also integrate growing trees and shrubs as living architecture.
