Project
Quartier International de Montreal (QIM)
Montreal / Canada, 2004
Description
Inaugurated in 2004, the Quartier international (QIM) is a new urban area located between the city's business district and Old Montreal. Restoring the link between two of Quebec's major tourism sectors and revitalizing the area, the QIM is a choice site to display a model of innovation in design, architecture and planning and to stage cultural activities. The redevelopment of Victoria Square with its series of fountains and the creation of Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle featuring Riopelle's bronze sculpture-fountain and ring of fire entitled La Joute (The Joust) are only a few of the attractions that visitors can now discover.

In collaboration with:
Daoust-Lestage & Michel Dallaire

Awards:
2004: Orange Prize - Landscape and Urban Design Award from Save Montreal
2004: Gold Award - Landscape architecture prize from the National Post Design Exchange Awards
2004: Landscape Award from Télé-Quebec and the Arts in the City
2004: Metropole Award from the Montreal Design Institute (IDM)
