Brook McIlroy’s design philosophy is predicated on building inspiring, contemporary cities and communities. The nature of our urban, architectural and landscape designs have evolved from this interest in the larger context – rather than thinking how to design buildings and landscapes in isolation, we are motivated by a vision of the whole. As a multi-disciplinary practice, we are able to take this perspective and combine our four core disciplines (architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, planning) working on a project from initial planning through to detailed design and construction. Our work incorporates place-sensitive elements of public art, culture, heritage/history, and natural vistas and character, to emphasize the importance of contextualization in all plans and designs.
